England and London

Prime Locations

London - The beating heart of world finance is also crowned one of the world's most culturally rich and historical cities. Founded in just 47 AD, its streets echo its varied history, from its Celtic roots to Roman renovations and modern-day inhabitants. London is home to over 300 museums and 6000 restaurants, offering every imaginable cuisine, 24/7 in the city that never sleeps.

Here are just a few culturally significant sites in London:

The Tate Modern and Tate Britain - The Tate Modern and Tate Britain are two of the most recognizable museums and art galleries internationally. With exhibitions year-round, they are definitely somewhere we recommend visiting. And if their famous exhibits are not enough (Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Man Ray), there is also a highly-rated ferry service through the Thames linking the two locations.

Hampton Court Palace - Hampton Court Palace, the home of queens, famously housed 5 of King Henry VIII’s wives. For more inclined guests, London is said to now be haunted by their pasts. As well as holding the title of the United Kingdom's longest surviving hedge maze, providing a stunning 20-minute walk around one of London’s most prestigious palace grounds - provided you remember your way out.

Buckingham Palace - Of course, no list of must-visits could ever exclude Buckingham Palace. Nicknamed the Queen's Palace, surprisingly not after the global figure of the late Queen Elizabeth II but instead after Queen Charlotte, it has over 320 years of deep and rich history all explorable, with indoor and outdoor tours as well as ground walks. With, of course, everybody’s favorite King’s guards (soldiers adorning red coats that can be seen outside royal palaces and castles) protecting the palace at all times.

London is also renowned for its theatrical and musical past. If you are more inclined towards the theatrical ambience, London will be the perfect destination. Here are some recommended performances:

"A Streetcar Named Desire"
"Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons"
"Sound of the Underground"
"The Lehman Trilogy"
"Medea"
